Venezia is a chair that originates from a setup proposal for the Nani Bernardo Palace on the occasion of the inaugural event promoted by architect Rem Koolhaas for the Venice Architecture Biennale 2014. With the “progetto Venezia”, Atelier LAVIT liaises with metal and leather craftsmen, accomplishing a complex aesthetic and structural research throughout a persistent and meticulous experimental work. Such an analysis has yielded several evolutionary stages of the product. Functional and aesthetic solutions soar far beyond the mere technical drawing or stylistic choice. Thanks to its complex and fluid lines, its pureness and essentiality of details Venezia evocates elegant gondolas which silently drifts on the canals of the Serenissima.
